What Is the Adult PVC Resuscitator CP?

The VM-RSPVCACP is a manual bag-valve-mask (BVM) resuscitator for emergency ventilation of adult patients (over 40kg) during cardiac arrest, respiratory failure or anaesthetic induction. The PVC bag-valve assembly compresses to deliver a controlled tidal volume with each hand squeeze, and the pressure-limiting valve (40-60cmH2O) prevents barotrauma by venting excess pressure before it reaches the airway. The ISO5356-1 22/15mm patient connector interfaces with all standard adult face masks, endotracheal tube connectors, laryngeal masks and supraglottic airway devices.

Technical Performance

The resuscitator bag volume of 1500ml (±200ml) and stroke volume of ≥600ml support the tidal volumes required for adult ventilation, 6-8ml/kg ideal body weight in CPR. The 2000ml oxygen reservoir bag ensures that at an oxygen flow rate of 15L/min, the inspired oxygen fraction (FiO2) delivered is ≥85%, well above the ≥60% FiO2 required for effective oxygenation in resuscitation. The recommended ventilation rate in adult CPR is 12 BPM with a tidal volume of 600ml at 15L/min supplementary oxygen.
