Compact UV-C Germicidal Cabinet for Instrument Sterility Maintenance

The UV Steriliser 8W is a compact stainless steel germicidal cabinet designed to maintain the sterility of surgical and clinical instruments after primary sterilisation by autoclave or chemical method. The 8W UV-C lamp operates at 253.7nm — the wavelength internationally recognised as the most effective for germicidal action — disrupting the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms on instrument surfaces and preventing recontamination between procedures. It is important to note that the UV Steriliser 8W is a sterility maintenance device, not a primary sterilisation system: instruments must first be sterilised by autoclave or an equivalent validated method before being placed in the cabinet for storage. With dimensions of 195×165×375mm, the 8W unit is the most compact model in the Cami UV Steriliser range and is suited to clinical workspaces where countertop space is limited, including single-room consulting practices, dental chairs, physiotherapy rooms, and small outpatient clinic workstations.

Stainless Steel Cabinet Construction and Safe Operation

The stainless steel body is hygienic, corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean — essential qualities for a device in continuous clinical contact. The enclosed cabinet format protects stored instruments from ambient contamination while the UV-C lamp maintains germicidal exposure across the interior surfaces. An auto-off timer prevents unintended prolonged UV exposure, reducing the risk of UV-C contact with skin and eyes in environments where clinical staff are present. With an 8W power draw and fuse protection at 2×1A, operating costs are minimal and electrical safety is maintained without requiring dedicated circuit installation.

The 8W UV steriliser is suited to doctors’ consulting rooms, dental practices, physiotherapy and occupational therapy rooms, outpatient clinics, veterinary practices, and any clinical environment requiring compact, low-maintenance UV sterility maintenance between uses. For clinical environments with higher instrument throughput or larger instrument trays, the 15W (VM-UV15W) and 30W (VM-UV30W) models offer greater UV output and exposure area.
