The Elastic Tourniquet with Clip is the standard instrument for venous occlusion in phlebotomy and intravenous cannulation. Applied proximal to the intended venepuncture site, the 63cm polyester elastic band compresses the superficial veins to make them visible and palpable, improving first-attempt cannulation success and reducing procedure time for both blood collection and IV catheter insertion. The band applies even, adjustable compression across the limb without pinching or cutting into skin, accommodating adult limbs of all sizes within its 63cm length. The ABS release buckle allows fast, single-hand release at the moment of needle insertion — preventing haematoma formation from prolonged venous occlusion and allowing the clinician to maintain needle position while releasing compression without requiring a second operator. Maximum recommended continuous application time is 30 minutes.

Haemostasis in First Aid and Emergency Scenarios

In first aid and pre-hospital emergency contexts, the elastic tourniquet can be applied as an interim haemostatic measure for arterial or significant venous bleeding when definitive wound care is not immediately available.
