Two Independent Manual Functions — Backrest and Knee-Rest

The K2K provides backrest and knee-rest adjustment via two dedicated retractable hand cranks. The backrest raises to 80° (±10°), supporting patients in an upright seated position for eating, breathing comfort, and post-operative recovery. The knee-rest raises to 35° (±10°), preventing patient sliding down the platform and reducing distal oedema in patients who cannot reposition independently. Each crank is retractable, folding flush against the bed frame when not in use. Both mechanisms are rated for a minimum of 100,000 uses, delivering reliable long-term mechanical performance without motors, batteries, or electrical maintenance. The K2K operates at a fixed platform height of 505 mm — making it well suited to general wards where a standardised working height is appropriate and variable height adjustment is not required, reducing both procurement cost and mechanical complexity relative to three-crank models.

Durable Frame, TPR Castors, and Ward-Ready Construction

The bed platform is constructed using stamped die-punching with a robot-welded surface, polished to a seamless, hygiene-friendly finish with no weld scars or recesses. The steel frame carries a safe working load of 200 kg. Four 5-inch covered castors are manufactured from TPR compound, rated to travel 30 km under a 120 kg load and pass through 500 obstacles without deformation — providing reliable ward mobility across years of clinical use. The anti-winding castor shell uses no external screws, reducing the risk of thread fouling from linen and debris on ward floors.

Side Rails, Head/Footboards, and Bedside Accessories

Foldable aluminium alloy guardrails with six vertical stainless steel poles and a plastic handle provide bilateral fall protection with easy single-hand operation, folding flat to permit patient transfers and lateral bed access. PP head and footboards feature integrated 60 mm barrel-type bumper wheels at the protective corners, minimising room clearance demands and protecting walls and adjacent furniture. Both boards are fully detachable for CPR access and thorough cleaning. The stainless steel IV pole includes four plastic hooks rated to 15 kg combined. Injection-moulded drainage hooks (×2) are integrated on both sides of the bed frame. Four IV pole provisions allow flexibility in pole positioning.
