The VM-BHMB03 3-Crank Manual Hospital Bed is a reliable, versatile, and cost-effective 3-function hospital bed designed for general ward, sub-acute, step-down, and home care use. Three independent manual cranks provide precise control over backrest angle, knee rest elevation, and bed height — allowing nursing staff to position patients safely for comfort, clinical care, pressure injury prevention, and manual handling without the complexity or cost of electric actuation.

Three Independent Crank Functions

The DW-MB03 uses three manual cranks to control each function independently:

The backrest adjusts from flat (0°) to 75° (±10°) — supporting supine positioning for sleep and rest, semi-Fowler and Fowler positioning for respiratory and cardiac patients, and upright positioning for feeding, rehabilitation exercises, or patient comfort during extended ward stays.

The knee rest adjusts from 0° to 35° (±10°) — providing lower limb support for patients in semi-Fowler positions, post-operative lower limb elevation, or comfort positioning for patients with oedema or mobility limitations.

Height adjusts from 400mm to 710mm — enabling a low transfer height for safe patient ingress and egress, and a raised nursing height that reduces clinician spinal loading during patient care, wound care, and manual handling tasks.

ABS Bed Ends with Safety Lock

Both head and foot ends are manufactured from ABS engineering plastic with integrated safety locks — providing structural rigidity, a lightweight, easy-clean surface, and secure attachment to the bed frame. ABS construction resists corrosion, is straightforward to disinfect, and is significantly lighter than steel equivalents for handling and transport.

Foldable Side Rail

The included foldable side rail provides fall prevention and patient security — allowing patients to reposition themselves safely, providing a handhold during transfers, and protecting patients at fall risk from unintentional egress. The foldable design allows rapid lowering for clinical access and nursing tasks.

IV Pole & IV Pole Provisions

The standard-included IV pole provides immediate in-bed infusion support without requiring a separate stand. Four IV pole provisions allow the pole to be positioned at different locations along the bed frame to suit the patient’s position and the clinical setup — left or right, head or foot end.

4 Drainage Hooks

Four drainage hooks are positioned around the bed frame for secure hanging of urinary drainage bags, wound drains, and other clinical drainage systems — keeping tubing organised, off the floor, and at the correct height for gravity-dependent drainage.

4 × 5″ Covered Castors

Four 5-inch covered castors provide smooth, easy bed repositioning within the ward — supporting single-person bed movement for room changes, cleaning, and repositioning around clinical equipment.

10cm Eggbox Mattress Included

The bed includes a 4-section, 10cm eggbox foam mattress — providing basic pressure redistribution across all four adjustable sections of the bed surface, suitable for general ward use and short to medium duration bed rest.
