Five-Function Hydraulic Adjustment System for Clinical Positioning

The S-5 (VM-BHH5F) is a five-function hydraulic hospital bed designed for acute care wards, step-down facilities, and frail care environments where flexible patient positioning is required for clinical management, pressure injury prevention, and nursing access. The five core functions are hydraulic height adjustment (450–800mm via hydraulic pump), backrest elevation (0–70°, gas spring), kneerest elevation (0–35°, gas spring), Trendelenburg and Anti-Trendelenburg tilt (0–16°, gas spring), and a 200mm bed-end extension for patient length accommodation. Height adjustment across a 350mm range allows the bed to be lowered for patient transfer safety and raised to ergonomic nursing height, reducing clinician musculoskeletal load during patient care procedures. The Trendelenburg and Anti-Trendelenburg function provides positional management for conditions including postural hypotension, post-procedural positioning, and aspiration risk reduction. Gas Spring and Hydraulic Controls with Central Locking

Backrest and kneerest adjustment, as well as Trendelenburg and Anti-Trendelenburg tilt, are all controlled by gas spring mechanisms — providing smooth, stepless adjustment without the mechanical play associated with manual ratchet systems. The hydraulic pump controls height adjustment, delivering stable, controlled elevation that can be locked at the desired working height. Central locking of all castors is a standard feature, securing the bed in position during patient care and transfers and eliminating the need to individually lock each castor wheel. A backrest angle indicator is available as an optional feature, providing a visual reference for clinicians managing patients with position-dependent clinical conditions such as dysphagia or respiratory compromise. A fifth castor is optionally available to improve stability during bed movement across ward environments.

The bed platform measures 1960×900mm, with an overall bed length of 2210mm and width of 990mm — standard acute care ward dimensions compatible with standard hospital mattresses. Structural bed height without mattress is 450mm at lowest position. Safe working load of 250kg is rated across the full range of positions and functions. Included as standard: one set of HP-4 head/foot boards and one set of aluminium alloy side rails with folding/removable bedside function for patient access and fall prevention.
