PARR Technology: Cardiac Arrhythmia Detection During Blood Pressure Measurement
The Rossmax X5 is a 5th-generation automatic upper-arm blood pressure monitor built on Rossmax’s PARR (Pulse Arrhythmia Recognition Rate) technology, which screens for five clinically significant cardiac rhythm abnormalities during every routine blood pressure measurement ? without additional equipment, additional patient interaction or prolonged measurement time. The five arrhythmia categories detected are Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), Premature Contraction (PC), Tachycardia (TACH), Bradycardia (BRAD) and general Arrhythmia (ARR). Atrial fibrillation is present in 10?20% of ischaemic stroke patients and significantly increases the risk of blood clot, stroke and heart failure; early detection during routine BP checks is a major clinical advantage. 120 Memories, 7-Day AM/PM Averaging and Guest Mode
The X5 stores 120 measurements across two user profiles with full date and time stamps, enabling separate monitoring for two patients or clinicians from one device. The 7-day AM/PM averaging function calculates separate morning and evening averages over the preceding week ? a feature aligned with international hypertension monitoring guidelines that recognise circadian blood pressure variation as a clinically meaningful indicator. The average of the last three readings is also displayed for immediate clinical reference. Guest Mode allows a one-off measurement without overwriting stored user data, useful for practice nurses measuring a new patient without disrupting the stored data of existing patients.
Cuff Detection, XL Display and Lifetime Calibration
The Rossmax X5 includes cuff detection that alerts the user if the cuff is not correctly positioned before the measurement begins, reducing the incidence of clinically invalid readings. Movement detection flags measurements affected by patient motion. The Jumbo XL digit backlight LCD makes readings easy to read in all lighting conditions. The latex-free patented universal cone cuff fits arm circumferences from 24 to 40cm without requiring cuff size selection. A cuff holder is integrated into the device design. The X5 carries a lifetime calibration guarantee, meaning the unit can be returned for recalibration without a calibration fee, supporting long-term measurement accuracy in clinical environments.
