The K6K delivers independent electric control over three clinical positioning functions: backrest elevation to 84°, knee-rest adjustment to 47°, and full bed height adjustment across a 310 mm range (400–710 mm). The backlit pendant handset includes an Auto-contour function, which simultaneously raises the backrest and knee section to reduce patient sliding — a key feature for long-term care and post-operative positioning. Linear motors rated to a minimum of 20,000 movement cycles operate at under 50 dB and comply with UL, ROHS, and EN standards, ensuring quiet, reliable function across the bed’s service life.
Robust Frame and Clinical-Grade Construction
The bed frame undergoes an 11-process epoxy coating system to a thickness of 0.12 mm with 60° brightness, rated to resist impacts of up to 50 kg — providing long-term durability against the mechanical demands of ward environments. The die-punched bed board is robot-welded and polished to a seamless finish, supporting a maximum safe working load of 200 kg. Six-pole folding aluminium alloy guardrails with stainless steel poles and ergonomic plastic handles provide fall protection with straightforward operation. The ABS head and footboards feature integrated protective corner bumpers (60 mm diameter barrel-type wheels) that minimise room clearance demands and are fully detachable for CPR access and thorough cleaning. The plastic used is sterilisable at 100°C with a tensile strength of up to 30 MPa.
Integrated Accessories and Safety Features
Drainage hooks are built directly into the guardrails, eliminating the need for separate hook accessories. The stainless steel infusion pole includes four plastic hooks with a combined bearing capacity of 15 kg. A dual-function mattress retainer prevents both mattress slide and frame paint abrasion. Four 5-inch covered castors provide controlled mobility during patient transfers and bed positioning. With CE, FDA, and ISO 13485 certification, the Saikang K6K meets international standards for hospital and frail care environments, and is available in South Africa through Vital Medical.
